The Blue Lotus Dance Company is hosting auditions for great dancers starting in March! We are a professional dance company specializing in world dance, specifically Bollywood, Bellydance, and Russian Gypsy, and we partner with Arts For Hearts, an organization dedicated to promoting the performance arts. No experience in these particular dance styles is required, only a background in dance, an ability to learn choreography, and good physical fitness. A background in traditional dance training such as ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, or tap is a plus.

To audition, you must contact us to set up an appointment. During the audition, we ask that you come prepared with a 1 minute piece (you may show a choreographed piece or an improvisation, but remember you need to show us your best). Qualifications:

• Dancers must be in good physical shape as our rehearsals and performances are quite vigorous and demanding.
• Dancers must have at least 2-3 years of consecutive dance training - must be a current practitioner.
• Dancers must be able to commit their time to regular rehearsals (approximately 7-10 hours per week), as well as any classes or extra rehearsals as deemed necessary by the company director/choreographer, Nalini.

Compensation:

Dancers are required to pay monthly dues to cover regular company expenses. We do not pay dancers for rehearsals but we have many public and private performance opportunities and most are paid. Free performances are always optional.
